I was watching a great Tik Tok by my friend, Rebecca Johns owner and founder of “Godly Woman.” For me, it was hilarious and so incredibly accurate as she starts by saying, “I don’t know when we are going to clean up our act.” I don’t either.

We live in a country that has enabled industry to deliver some of the most toxic foods right to your family’s table. Do you know what that does for you and your family? It chips away at wellness and, as you age, becomes the leading cause of weight gain.

So, let’s take the stigma off of weight. Instead, use your weight to understand when the industry is delivering harmful food to you. How do you do that? Well, here are three apps I use and the different twists I put on them to help me figure out when foods are toxic to me.

renphoTracking Weight To Understand How Industry Has Made Food Harmful To You

I use Renpho’s wifi weight scale to track weight changes. I’m not using the scale to manage my weight. I’m using the scale to identify when my weight changes. What’s the deal with weight changes? Well, I found that when I eat foods that cause inflammation, that bloating weight can add a pound or more daily. That’s how you can add 10lbs in a short time.

The scale helps me identify when something is out of wack. But, then I need to get an idea of what it was that kicked me out of wack. That is where MyNetDiary comes in. I pay for the annual subscription because I want this app to stay around. You get cooler features with the subscription.

It takes about 18 hours for food to move through your body. Knowing exactly what you ate the day before gives you direction on what is causing your inflammation. You might think you can do this on your own. But, let’s be real, if that was true, you wouldn’t be sitting in the same boat as me, missing your oars and wondering why you’re so bloated. Well, let’s not look for the oars. Let’s put an outboard motor on this and get back on our way.

Using Technology To Zoom In On What Is Toxic To YOU

That’s MyNetDiary, you’re outboard motor. It will show you everything you’ve eaten and save the information over time. You can also tie in the Renpho information. That gives you an idea of where to start. As you change and modify your eating habits, you’ll see what harms your health because the next day will show an increase in bloating weight.

Yuka AppWays To Nip It In The Bud

There is one last app I use. One of my clients just turned me on to this new app, Yuka. This is a cool app because you can scan the barcode in the grocery store and see how Yuka rates the food. You start becoming more aware of labels using this app because Yuka makes labels easy. Not only does Yuka make labels easy, but it will also offer alternatives for food that rates poorly.

Yuka’s information indicates they are not taking money from industry, but feel free to give Yuka a donation to help keep the lights on. Let’s do that to help keep information reliable. You can see this app in action by clicking here.

That’s it! That is my triple threat. Instead of using weight to punish yourself, use your weight to identify when industrialized food has gone too far for your body!
